We can support you by connecting you with potential employees and identifying support available via the MTFJ Recovery Progamme and community agencies to assist in:
Recruitment such as position descriptions, advertising, shortlisting and interviewing
Investigate available subsidies and grants
Training costs for new employees such as driver licences and courses
Wage subsidies are available for a new employee of 30+ hours not already employed full time
Equipment costs such as safety equipment and PPE
And pastoral care needs for new employees.

MTFJ Wage Subsidy
We are excited to let you know that the Mayors Taskforce for Jobs is offering a wage subsidy of up to $2,000 + GST for a new employee not already in full time employment, who is newly employed full time (30 hours +).
This offer is inclusive of those increasing hours from casual/part time to full time.
To clarify the criteria – the new employee must be:
Employed and residing in the Waimate District
Not previously in full time employment
Employed on a permanent contract for a minimum of 30 hours
New Zealand Residency holder
Not qualify for other Ministry of Social Development wage subsidies such as Flexi Wage or Apprentice Boost
Aged 16-24 years or (any age) have a disability or considered disadvantaged in our labour market.

We are also able to help with purchasing PPE and start up equipment for your new employee. This can include workwear, safety equipment, basic tools and training such as workplace first aid and health and safety courses.
