Pig Farmer
Our farm has 1 position available to join our skilled team.
We operate a high health status closed piggery from breeding to finishing - incorporating 2 farms 20 minutes apart.
Capacity to move to a Managment role is a reality for suitable candidates.
Prior knowledge or experience in Milling of feed highly desirable alongside diet management and nutrition health.
A preferred formal qualification in Agriculture with min experience of 1-3 years working with pigs is desirable for this position .
Duties will involve stock movement alongside excellent stockmanship of animals from weaning through to grower, experience and knowledge in farrowing pre and post sow, weaning, recording of growth data/analysis, and A.I. plus attention to detail when Water-blasting is essential for health status .
We operate an automated feed system requiring computer skills and ability to calculate feed rates .
You will be solutions focused and demonstrate this plus contributing and adding value and knowledge to our team meetings and ultimately our farm direction.
Tractor driving experience would be helpful. Provided on farm transport for any work related requirements.
